Zimbabwe National Debate Team is a registered NGO that runs the National Debating Team. Every year we select the top 5 students in the country, give them intensive training over a year, and then take them to the World Schools Debating Championships & World Public Speaking Championships which are held across the world – this year, we are taking the debate team to Hanoi Vietnam (July) and we took the public speaking team to Durban South Africa.

We are opening a room for all debaters and punk speakers keen to take part in the world championships 2024. Public Speaking World Championships will be held in Australia, in April 2024, while Debate World Championships venue will be announced soon, but In July 2024.

How do you make the 2024 Team for either team?

1. Attend Regionals either as independent or under your school.

2. Top 8 Debate Teams & top 15 Public Speakers per region will qualify for Nationals, which will be held in December

3. Top 12 Debaters, Champions & Runners Up; Top 6 Public Speakers will be required to attend training for 2 months, and the official Teams will be announced in February 2024.
